I'M SOPHIE

In 2021 when my husband and I were ready to ‘go for it’, I thought we’d get pregnant straight away. We kept trying month after month, the disappointments mounting and my heart breaking every time my period came. During that time, I was studying Nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London which meant I had access to expert practitioners and cutting-edge research. I spoke to the best of the best to learn about what really works. I tried it all and I did it all. My own struggle inspired me to delve deep, investigate and find answers and today I use everything I’ve learnt to help individuals and couples alike conceive either naturally or via IVF.

Evidence of the role of nutrition in fertility is rapidly evolving and a growing body of evidence points to a link between diet and fertility. Alterations in this can lead to dysfunctions like infertility.

Therefore, nutritional support is crucial for the health of reproductive organs, oocytes and sperm and is an important strategy to improve fertility. Equally, many lifestyle factors such as weight, exercise, psychological stress, environmental and occupational exposures can have substantial effects on fertility. Luckily, diet and lifestyle factors are modifiable, and improvements have been shown to profoundly improve fertility.
